Biography
I am a vibrant painter…
who finds inspiration in daily life; a shadow, the beauty of a smile or the laughter of my kids.
I was born in El Salvador in 1979 in the midst of civil unrest. Leaving generations behind, my family relocated to Costa Rica seeking a new beginning. Here, where I felt safe, I truly began to appreciate the beauty of simplicity. Stars, a common theme in my pieces, are inspired by childhood memories of the Costa Rican night sky.
I began experimenting with art early in life, but my twenties signified a realization that creating was more than a mere pastime, but instead a way of life. I attended Full Sail University and Miami International University of Art and Design, where I translated my love for art to graphic design and video animation.
Today, I constantly challenge myself as an artist, exploring fresh styles and new mediums. Painting is an extension of my passion for recreating the stories of my own life. I am consumed with capturing the essence of family, friends and first loves.
I currently reside in Miami, Florida with my patient wife, and always entertaining kids.
